    leather carb gasket removal

I have a polished 4165 holley carb that has leather gaskets. does anyone knopw a way to remove these things??. i have tried 3 days soaking in carb cleaner and using denatured alcohol and didnt even make a dent into softening them at all. Cant buff or dremel them off because of all the tiny ridges used to seal the new gaskets. Help i am running out of ideas.

    Re: leather carb gasket removal

I'd consider using a razor to start to peel them.
