One of our members, FRY302, has posted some photos of his awesome ride, a Ford Cortina with a 363 cube naturally apirated windsor:

• Built by Advanced Performance Machining in Albion Park Rail NSW
• C4 with 4200 stall convertor by AJ Dominello
• Braced 9 inch full aluminium Mosar centre,35 spline spool & axles 5/8 studs.
• 3 1/2" hand made custom exhaust system

He took it out to WSID for the first time last week with the new donk and the the bonnet pins broke with about 50 metres to go, wrapping the bonnet over the roof. He went through the traps under brakes running 11.01@109MPH so he should have a bit more left in it!

Hey CYCOV8,thanks mate,the roof skin gets taken off in 2-3 weeks,change planum & full respray.Still undecided on a cage as my 2 boys love going in the car & with a full cage i'm sure no one is allowed in the back.I'll contact my engineer when it gets closer & then make a decision.I saw your car at WSID the night it happened,what times are you running Cheers KEV

 

yeah sorry to say i watched the horror as your bonnet come up i havent sorted mine out properly yet but i got kicked out after doing a 10.92 122miles i was a bit angry as i have seen other cars race without cages and stuff for those times and not get kicked out. I have just done a full respray on mine it goes in for a cage retrim and a motor upgrade soon. I wanna start to sort out the gas on it. As i have only run it naturally aspirated.

sorry to say to dude yeah you lose your back seat it is very hard to get an engineer to engineer any cage at the moment with all the new rules out it is a joke. You either have a race car or a street car now days lol

probably the reason you got kicked out is your not in the click with the people who run the joint,it seems you have to kiss *** up there .ive seen people get special treatment up there & us honest battlers who build our cars get shafted.its pretty much the same at powercruise,summernats,supernats.Me & my mate went to the easternats in our cars,blew 22 brand new tyres between us & popped an engine & all that was in any mag were stock commodores & shitbox unrego cars.if you didnt have vic plates you may as well not go,& we never will.At the last super nats i got 1 go to whoa 1 power skid whilst Gary Myers had more than 5 times that amount of go's at every thing.No offense to Gary hes a cool easy going guy.it just seems that if you kiss *** it gets you some were,not this little black duck they can jam there events.i'd rather cruise from pub to pub having fun on the back roads with my family & friends.

hey dude mine is a 351 windsor thats why i am on this forum lol but its been stroked to 383. Made 550 at the fly on the hercules engines dyno. But i am in with a few people around the place i dont think it is as much as kissing asss just saying hello when you go different places and talk to the same people all the time. I love the car shows its really the only time i get the car out for some fun. And in saying that its where you really cut loose to have some fun. The cops are to strict now days and i would hate to get caught doing something illegal and then loose my license or even the car its just not worth the hassle now days.

Mate nice car and engine. theres nothing like a windsor swinging at 7000rpm.

hey fry have you got yours up and running yet??

Hey had a hard time getting back on to this site,i had to rejoin .Its all good mate fired it up last wednesday,waiting for the rear seat to be recovered.It should be on the road by next saturday.Changed the trim to tan coloured leather but other than that its all the same.Cant wait to drive it again.NO SCOOP this time ,i dont need that happening again.Did i see you went 355 on the rear of your corty? Thats TUFF !
