    Positive deck height

Hi all. I'm building a 289 Boss style engine for my Mustang. Don't ask why.... and please don't just recommend alloy heads and custom pistons. Anyway back to the question, is it ok to have a positive deck height (.020)? I couldn't get the the right hi top pistons, but with my stroke / rod / piston combo the pistons end with a .020 positive deck height and the right compression ratio I'm looking for!. The head gasket is .040 compressed, so what do you think?
    Thanks

    Re: Positive deck height

A good idea would be to contact the piston manufacturer for a clearance recommendation, i assume the heads are closed chamber and have a quench area.

A positive deck height is not generally a problem unless there is a clearance issue that would interrupt the flame travel or obviously when a mechanical interference is created from it when at operating temperature.
