Dodgy DIY Tip: Super magnetic worklight

This tip came about after being sick and tired of the garbage chinese magnetic work lights out there. I got sick of the weak ass magnets or hangers always being in the wrong place so I came up with this weeks PF Bodge. Total cost should be around $2.

    Ingredients:
    1 Work light
1 Old hard disk (any age or size will do)
    1 Hot glue gun
Lots of hot glue (2-3 sticks)

    Instructions:
    1) Pull apart hard disk, scavenge the two rare earth magnets and chuck the rest. You should end up with something along these lines:

    2) Lay magnets down magnet side down (one side is magnetic, the other side is shielded). Lay the work light on top of the magnets. If youre using a steel workbench, put all of this on a cardboard sheet as its easier to get it off during intitial gluing stages

    3) Start filling the gap between light and magnet with lots of hot glue

    4) Use the light!! Its can be pretty handy to be able to stick it to the underside of a guard or other horizontal surface where you normally cant hook a worklight easily!

The magnets are strong enough that I can pull around a decent sized steel work trolley. Best technique to remove it is to lift one end up rather than twist it off.

Hope you all find it useful!
