    What displacements.....

...can i get out of a 302. I had 302 rebuilt to a 306. Not sure what the block is but it has Windsor heads , flat top pistons 9.2:1 comp. ratio, , 292 duration cam and 5.12lift. I put this in a T-bird dirt track stock car. It runs great but was wondering what the next step up would be without going to wild on expenses? I know of the 347 stroker but would it be cheaper to make it a 311 with dome pistons and bigger cam?

347 is about as far as anyone goes with 302's. Other options are 331 and 327 (which I think vary by bore size). That needs a stroker crank setup which you can pick up on ebay/summit/etc.

If you bore it out past 040 you start running risks of hot spotting. 060 is about the limit of conventional wisdom and even then I would want to be sonic checking the block before use.

If you have a good head/cam setup on that 302 you might do better by stepping up to a 351w block as you can take the heads along with you.

OK, thanks. I wasn't sure how much to bore it out. First time messing around with a 302.
