  • CARB 351W to EFI 351W

    I am new to ford engine building, but not new to the engine building business. I was wondering if anyone out there would know if I can take a 85 CARB long block and make it into an 95 EFI and put it in an 95 Bronco. Is all that I have to do is change the manifold and put the EFI on it? And do you know if it will bolt up to the trans?

    First thing to search and try out... Find a domed 351c piston.  The deck height is almost the same as a piston for a 393 (351w) stroker.  This will provide adequate valve clearance for the larger valves.  A Windsor based piston will not have the proper valve clearance as the Cleveland piston.  You will probably need a domed ...

    Are you going to be doing any circuit or drag strip work?   Oil pumps - milodon seem just fine. Go with std volume unless youre building a loose tolerance motor. Water pumps are pretty much all made in china these days, apparently the edelbrock ones are pretty good but theyre really expensive for something pretty simple. A few other ...
