    Some good tips there, thanks.  I took your advice on the dry setup with gaskets firstly.  It got me a cpl more mil clearance, but wasnt enough really.  I decided to reshape the pick up tube by way of mild heating and gentle bending of the tube.  I cleared out any minimal debris i could feel or see.  It ...

  • Oil pan to pick-up clearance

    Hi guys, Can anyone advise me on issues of oil pans and not clearing the pick up screen? My 302 has a Mellings high volume pump, a TRW pick up screen and a High Energy baffled pan. When i dry fitted for fit the pan bottomed out by id say 5mm too shy and wouldnt clear the pick up screen. What options are there ? Different pick up ? Change the pump ...
