can anyone help me to id a motor a bought i have a 289W in my Australian 67 fairlane and thought that i had bought a 302W i know it is a windsor but cant tell if it is a 351W is there any easy way of identifying these two motors or can you recommend any sites that give these types of info and great the spark plug thread is larger than my 289 ...

If you get the right pistons it will work. Off the top of my head I don't know of any pistons that will work in that combo. 351c pistons are slightly taller than the 302 piston, and may work with a 3'' stroke. For a 3.5'' stroke you'll probably have to contact JE or Ross and see about having a set of pistons made.Also if you have ...

Hi im installing a set of new smeding full roller rockers to my 1971 302w but there seems to be a hight problem with the rockers bottoming out on the posts requiring a full 1/4'' longer push rod and not a very happy valve geometry. Have just purchased a clean, low km's ZC fairlane.....Stock as a rock, down to original hub caps and cross ply tyres.....I am keen on a bit more power, but at this stage, just looking at bolt on gear....currently all stock, single barrel carb, stock intake, exhaust, cam etc....
